About Our Practice

Our practice is led by two board-certified pediatric providers who are also mothers themselves. Brittany Molkenthin, APRN, CPNP-PC is our founder with extensive background in pediatric intensive care and mental health. Lauren Maxeiner is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with specialized training in lactation counseling. Both providers are committed to delivering compassionate, family-centered care.
Our Office Hours are Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, and Saturday by appointment only.
We believe in treating the whole child—physical, emotional, and mental well-being. Our approach centers on evidence-based care delivered with compassion and respect for parents as partners in their child's healthcare. We live by the philosophy that "not every child follows the textbook," allowing us to tailor care to each unique child.
Our office is located at 188 Westminster Rd, Unit 5, Canterbury, CT 06331.
We provide care from birth through young adulthood, offering comprehensive services for newborns, infants, children, and adolescents.

Vaccines & Preventive Care

We strongly value childhood vaccinations as an essential part of preventive care. We follow the recommended schedules from the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. While we will work with families who wish to pursue an alternative or delayed schedule, our goal is to have all patients on track with vaccinations by two years of age.
We recommend all vaccines included in the CDC's recommended childhood immunization schedule, which protects against 14 potentially serious diseases before age two.
Yes, we value shared decision-making and will work with you to establish an alternative schedule if that's your preference. This schedule must be established with your provider, with the goal of completing recommended vaccinations by age two.

Medications & Refills

For ongoing medications, please contact your pharmacy first for refills. We receive these requests through our electronic medical record system. For controlled substances, we require 24 business hours to process refill requests, and your child must be up-to-date on medication follow-up appointments.
Children on mental health medications are typically seen every three months for monitoring and adjustments. Other medications may have different follow-up schedules based on your child's specific needs.

Portal & Communication

Yes, we use Athena's patient portal which gives you 24/7 access to your child's medical records, immunization history, and lab results. You can also request appointments and communicate with our office through the portal.
Yes, we send appointment reminders via email and/or text message based on your communication preferences.
